In a cisgender female, infertility can be due to a number of causes. Common conditions associated with infertility are conditions known as polycystic ovarian syndrome or endometriosis.
Other less commonly discussed factors in a cisgender female can impact reproductive health. A retroverted uterus can be at a mechanical disadvantage for reproductive health. The uterus is in the pelvic cavity and the ovaries are in the abdominal cavity. If the uterus is retroverted (which is common in 25% of women), the fallopian tube and ovaries can get shifted back putting the egg and sperm at a mechanical disadvantage for creating an embryo.
